Are you eligible for Access to Leeds?Anyone applying to a full time undergraduate degree at the University can apply to the Access to Leeds scheme. To be eligible you must be living permanently in the UK, hold or be taking the required level 3 qualifications (A levels, BTECs or equivalent) for the course you’ve applied to, have the potential to succeed at the University of Leeds and meet two or more of the following criteria:be from a household with an annual income of or below or in receipt of 16 19 Bursary Fund or Discretionary Learner Support with an income threshold of or in receipt of free school meals during your GCSE studiesbe in the first generation of your immediate family to go to universityattend a school achieving below the national average at GCSE (Attainment 8 score)your only option is to attend a local universityyour studies have been disrupted by circumstances in your personal, social or domestic lifeyou live in a geographical area with low progression to higher education (see our online postcode checker)you live or grew up in public carePlease note: the Access to Leeds scheme is not appropriate for applicants who already hold a Higher Education qualification or those taking an Access to Higher Education or foundation qualification.How to applyIf you meet two or more of the above eligibility criteria you should download and complete an application form, and refer to the accompanying guidelines. Ideally this should be done as soon as you submit your UCAS application.If you are applying under the household income criteria and have not received the 16 19 Bursary Fund or free school meals, you must also complete a declaration of household income form. This should be submitted alongside your application form.Your Access to Leeds application must be supported by a referee,
preferably a teacher or tutor, who will need to complete a section on your application form. Applying directly to the scheme will enable your referee to provide additional details on your circumstances to support your application.If you are successful in receiving a course offer, you will receive an Access to Leeds offer alongside your standard course offerHow to submit your application formThe application form should be completed electronically in Microsoft Word and submitted through our web form. We strongly recommend you use a desktop PC or laptop as the form may not work on some mobile devices. You should complete the first part of the form, then forward to your referee for them to fill in the rest.If you are automatically flagged by our admissions team you could receive an Access to Leeds offer alongside your standard offer. For medicine and dentistry students, Access to Leeds applications must be received by 23.59pm on 13 November 2017. For all other courses, applications must be received by 23.59 on 26 February 2018.Your Access to Leeds application should be submitted as closely as possible to your UCAS application. UCAS deadlines are 15 October for medicine and dentistry and 15 January for all other courses.Please ensure when sending your application you pay the correct postage for the envelope you use. Paying the incorrect postage can significantly delay the process, or even prevent Access to Leeds from receiving your application.
